Additional Information
Because of the recession, many women these days who want to buy new clothes but cannot afford to buy the designer labels they may have bought in times gone by, resort to buying chainstore clothing. There are some very big high street names whose chainstore clothing designs emulate the designer products but the big advantage is that they sell them at knock down prices. This means that women can try out all the latest designs but at a fraction of the cost. Chainstore clothing is obviously not as luxurious as the designer versions and often the cut and the fabric are the ways that the stores economise. However, they often look very good and, in the very fickle world of fashion, most people do not want to wear the same clothes year after year. This is where these high street shops really score highly. Women can get to change their outfits regularly and always have something new to wear at a very affordable price indeed. They also are excellent for children`s clothing. We all know that clothing children can be very expensive as they grow out of things so quickly so affordable items for children are very welcome indeed.
My friend has been out of work for some time and has been thinking long and hard about what she wants to do. She received a redundancy package from her previous job so she has been deciding what she will do with the money in order to make an ongoing living. Two weeks ago she decided she would buy up some ex chainstore clothing and sell it on the local markets. She has found a good contact to provide her with ex chainstore clothing and has bought a considerable amount to sell. She went to her first local market on Saturday and she was very pleasantly surprised at how popular her ex chainstore clothing was with the general public. From the time she set up her stall at nine o`clock in the morning until five o`clock in the evening her stall was constantly busy. She said she did not even have any time for lunch. At the end of the day she had made a significant profit and she feels that this venture is going to be very profitable indeed for her. She has now taken up stalls at various markets throughout the area and is enjoying herself enormously.
My daughter has left school this summer and is at the moment waiting for her GCSE results. She is a very hardworking girl and I am sure she will do well. She is totally relieved that all her exams are over and she is really looking forward to enjoying her summer. However, she is worried about having enough money to be able to do the things she wants to and has found herself a job in a warehouse selling wholesale chainstore clothing. I am really proud of her for having the initiative to find a job for herself. Apparently she came upon the job because the father of a friend of hers from school who sells the wholesale chainstore clothing had recommended her for the job. She has now been working there for a week and has had her first week`s wages. She says that working in wholesale chainstore clothing is not the job she wants to do for the rest of her life but she is enjoying herself tremendously at the moment. Although it is only her first week I am sure she will do well and hopefully be called back in her holidays from college.
